Understanding A 2-Way RadioA two-way radio, sometimes called a walkie-talkie is a hand-held radio that can both receive and transmit radio waves, unlike a conventional broadcast receiver that only receives radio waves. It is also a transceiver, transmitter and receiver in a single unit, employed mainly for walkie-talkie communication with other wireless users with similar radios, for bidirectional communication. The term "two-way" radio refers to the ability to communicate with people who are in radio contact with you. This type of radio functions by picking up an incoming signal, amplifying it and passing it on to a receiving antenna.
